Darryl Bailey (2/18/2011) I knew Chuck back in the 70's I first meet him at Preston (CYA) in Ione Ca. I was a trustee I started working out him under his direction I went from a bench press of 120lbs to 280lbs in less than a year I have seen him pickup the front of a 1970 Ford pickup and hold it for 10 seconds also he would take a chain and wrap it around his gloved hands and break it. I knew the guy for a year while I was there and with what he taught me I never went back to CYA he was a really caring guy but if you pushed him to far look out.I have seen the man lose his temper only once saw him pickup a inmate and throw him at least 15' through the air into a wall but I only saw him lose it one time he turned around a lot of lives while employed at the California Youth Authority
Salvador Amezola (2/16/2011) When I hear the name Chuck Sipes,I see a great man,Father figure,big brother,or just a friend to talk to.Not to mentioned all those troubled kids in the C.Y.A. that he tried his best to guide in the right direction.May the man upstairs have a special place for him in heaven.(R.I.P.)Chuck Sipes you will never be forgotten.
George Cram (12/27/2010) I also met Chuck at Karl Holton CYA in Stockton,CA where I was picked out of 3,000 inmates to go with a group of eight on an outward bound trip to the Trinity Alps for 26 days. One day he set up olympic day which I received one of his metals which I still have today. I also have an award certificate and the original map in which plotted our adventure. May he rest in peace.
Michael Yarborough (12/23/2010) I first met Chuck in 1968 in Ione, CA where he worked at Preston Youth Authority school. I was 17, and in awe of the man who had just won the Mr. World contest. Later, when I was 29, I met Chuck again and he showed me a bench routine that helped me achieve my best one rep max. He was always helpful; it was a disappointment to hear of his death.

Tom Gunter (12/8/2010) I USED TO LIVE ACROSS THE STREET FROM CHUCK,TO THIS DAY I HAVE NEVER MET A MORE HUMBLE,OR NICER PERSON AND IM 51 NOW.HE TRIED TO GIVE ME HIS MR. AMERICA TROPHY,OR COUSE BECAUSE OF MY UP BRINGING I COULD NOT TAKE IT.HE WILL ALWAYS BE MY IDOL!!!! I MISS HIM.
