AL (1/28/2011) I too knew Rock in Chicago. I talked with him many times at the Eaton's Health Food store, and ordered many of his hi-protein shakes. I also used to stay at his gym overnight. He even invited a bunch of us gym guys for a drink at a nearby bar. A very friendly person who took me to his house where I met his lovely wife and viewed his gym in the basement. Great friend and I was shocked to hear of his passing. I googled and could not find any detailed info on his passing. I too am wondering how did he go. I still have the magazine article on him. Anyone find out on his passing? Al now in Virginia Beach
JOE G (1/14/2011) I was a relatively close friend of Rocks', I met him when he worked at Eaton's Health Foods, in downtown Chicago. We trained together several days a week and he was a guest at my (parents) home on many occasions. I actually helped him open his gym (Triumph ) with Sergio Oliva. I am sadd.ened by his untimely death. My question is, how, or under what circumstances did he die ?

John M. Rice (10/27/2009) Jesse was my father's close friend in high school in Erie, Pa. My dad tells me many stories about Jesse's early days and his teenage training methods. Unfortunately, Jesse joined the service while my dad was away on vacation and the two never saw each other again. My dad also proved to be a big bodybuilder who wished he had the opportunity to catch up with Jesse before his death in 1994.
