Mr Smith I am dougs daughter that was his first gym I was 7 years old then it was on main st. next to the bullet hole Lots of great memories, I was blonde and always there, he passed away 3/6/05 complications heart they gave him idione to look at his heart he had a reaction. I miss him deeply he was my hero, when he was younger he was approched to play Tarzan before johnny wisemiller, but he had my brother an I, he was 3ed place in the Mr. Universe against Arnold, He trained with Lou, and Paul Anderson pick my brother, me, an 6 full grown men up on a table at the Van Wezel, better known as the Purple Cow, I am on Facebook. He was something differnt to everyone, he could make you laugh even when you didnt want to, Hes still my Super Hero, and will always be. The world lost a great man, I lost my best Friend. I miss him deeply.

in 1967 i joined a gym in sarasota run by DOUG BETTS he convinced me to quit COLD a 3 pack a day camel habit and likely saved my life. sorry to now learn that he is no longer with us. GOD BLESS HIM. wish i knew what happened to him.
