During the late forties and early fifties I was foutunate enough to have met Glenn while I was with AMG. I never attained the physique that he and other contemporares of his did, I did though enjoy several years of public fame in the "shirt pocket" semi-gay physique magazines. I still have many original prints from that era and have the intention of donating them to a group in Australia that is compiling a website devoted to vintage male physique photography. It was a joy to see many of Glenns photos here.

Glenn Bishop and Richard Alan represented the epitome of male physique culture along with Richard DuBois, Clarence Ross and Reg Lewis and Larry Scott. I was literally pushed into the gym and into sports by my desire to emulate these powerfully built men. I can only imagine that I was one of many who was mutally inspired.

When I was a teenager in the fifties the only male photographs I could find were in physique and bodybuilding magazines. Glenn Bishop was a special favorite of mine. It is wonderful to find some of his photos here.
